Requirements
Education/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Minimum 4 years of experience in application installation, fabrication, or related field.
Preference given to candidates with experience in the aerospace industry.
Job Description:
The Senior Interior Installation Technician operates with autonomy to remove, install, and/or fabricate aircraft interiors, encompassing tasks like trim, carpet, soundproofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels, and other components. All activities must align with company design specifications and quality standards, meeting customer expectations. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and training other Interior Installation Technicians.
Primary Responsibilities:
Execute aircraft interior removal, installation, and fabrication, including galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels.
Collaborate with supervision and Inspection to ensure adherence to Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, and quality specifications.
Provide guidance and training to junior technicians, reviewing their work to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
Assume leadership duties as necessary, overseeing projects or other technicians and procuring required materials and documentation.
Utilize the material tracking system for parts demand, squawk tracking, and work sign-offs.
Adhere to standard operating procedures for tools and equipment usage, maintaining shop equipment and tools appropriately.
Follow company operation procedures and quality standards for aircraft interior preparation and installation.
Remove and reinstall nut plates, inserts, and other fasteners, applying proper hardware and fittings.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, 5S practices, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as needed.
Address unsafe conditions promptly and assist with aircraft maintenance tasks.
Adapt to changes in schedules and coordinate projects with other departments as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior technicians to identify and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies.
Create and utilize simple patterns following standardized procedures.
Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including potential involvement in flight tests.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
Proficient in English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Proficiency in using hand/power tools and equipment for interior installation and removal.
Capability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
Basic computer literacy.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Advanced knowledge of aircraft installation and fabrication processes, including working with composite panels made from various materials.
